Each year I get tons of questions about how to set up money making websites without having to spend a cent. Some people are in dire straights – they have spent all they have on so-called “secrets”, and have nothing to show for it – only to get heavier into debt and leave as frustrated human beings.

Here’s my tried and trusted methods (“secret”) how to build a simple money making website, from scratch without any money. All you need to buy is hosting and a domain name, and you can do this.

Make sure you follow these steps in the correct order, and you should be fine.

1. Look for keywords with high search terms, and low competition.

2. Use Wordpress to build your site, as it has PAGES as well as POSTS (blog-style)
This greatly enhances your content in the search engines, very quickly.
Grab a free wordpress theme to make your site look attractive, relevant to your keywords.

Use the following plugins to enhance your site:
- Maxblogpress Ping Optimizer
- All In One SEO Pack
- WP-SPAM Free (contact page)
- Google XML Sitemaps

3. Build your website around your keywords – you will need to be able to come up with relevant content.
If you’re cash strapped, then simply re-write (don’t simply copy) articles from say www.ezinearticles.com
Else search for some PLR content based on the theme of your keywords by searching in Google for PLR+keyword(s)
The PLR content costs around $5 per 12 articles, and should get your site going easily enough.

4. Add Google Analytics to your web page
- Just post the code into the Footer of your Wordpress site, just below the </body> tag

5. Look for affiliate programs in place like Commissions Junction and Clickbank
- use their search tools to find relevant programs
- Insert a picture and use your affiliate link from the picture to link to the site
- Refer to the product using your affiliate link from within the body of your text.

6. Distribute your website around the internet
- this is where there are all these “Secrets” that no-one really wants to give away for free
- locate other blogs with similar recent content, and make a comment
- find 10 blogs on the subject (news site sometimes allow comments) and ensure you include a relevant back link, but no more than 2 overall
- write articles and submit to article directories to get more back links
… etc

7. Write a new post every day for the first 2 weeks
- this will get your content indexed quickly into the search engines
- as new content goes out, you will get indexed for those articles and their keywords on your site
- keep this up as a daily routine

8. Use Google’s Feed burner to make a lead capture page for your leaders
- each time you publish a post they will be notified by email
- this is perhaps the only free email subscription service on the internet, and it works better than AWEBER :)

9. Don’t crowd your site with useless banners that are off topic
- and use Adsense sparingly, better to use affiliate programs

10. Check your Google Analytics stats daily
- this is a source of encouragement to see people start to arrive at your site
- don’t give up, but check to see that you are on the right track
